My cousin found a picture of my father and his sisters when they were very young... When I saw the picture, I laughed so hard, I cried! Apparently, it was common practice to dress boys in girls clothing when they were young, especially if you only had one boy after having had several girls... That was the case with Grandma Roxie... she only had the one boy after having had four girls so she dressed daddy in girl clothes until he was nearly school age. Oh how this tickled me!
As a surprise for the family, my cousin had the picture professionally restored and gave each cousin a copy. I cropped daddy and one sister from that picture and used it as a model for this painting which is a part of my 11x14 Strathmore hardbound watercolor desk journal.
This collage painting was done using acrylic, gelatos, ink, and chalk on 140# watercolor paper.
