Description
Tree of Life
I look out and see you beyond the castle wall
Standing majestic, powerful, strong and tall
So lush and sturdy and bearing much fruit
Providing wisdom and nourishment from your leaves to your roots
My attention is diverted back inside my little space
Where I have everything desired and paint on the happy face
There is something missing and I dont know just what or why
But I feel an emptiness, a sadness that often makes me cry
I walk the perimeter of my abode on a quest for inner peace
Enjoying the warmth of the sun while wishing the longing ache would cease
I long to feel the security found within your loving embrace
To dwell within your shelter and feel that theres no better place
I want to dine on your fruit and be totally fulfilled
Then climb and swing from your branches and feel that childlike thrill
But alas, youre right there, so close and yet so far
Like focusing on the moon while seeking that unreachable star
To get to you I may endure discomfort and some strife
But Ive got to do what Ive got to do, to get to my tree of life.
