Mixed Media - Encaustic Mixed Media Collage On Birch Wood Panel
Description
I spent 30 years in Corporate America and am now finding my way back home to being the creative soul I was destined to be...
This is a mixed media *encaustic collage* painting.
Encaustic painting is the process of using hot wax (beeswax) as your painting and binding medium. I hand dye my own cloth and make/ paint various paper designs to make my collages. I made all of the papers and fabrics used in this collage using various mediums like acrylic, oil, wax crayon and paint, ink, chalk, and gouache.
Although I've been using other mediums for a few years now, I just started my encaustic journey in 2011. Stay tuned, more encaustic art yet to come...

Wow! This is awesome, Angela! Any journey back home is going to attract almost everyone's eye, and this lives up to the title with wonderful colors and composition. Fantastic work. And of course the concept of "home" can mean so many different things so is a wonderful metaphor for the journey. Another fave, my friend. [Having a bit of burnout so staying under the radar a bit.]
Angela L Walker replied:
I do understand... I left town for the weekend but still checked in just a little bit. :-) You are such a hard worker, my friend.
