Today was an exciting day in my studio. I finished the _FIRST_ *Pretty Panels Abstract Art Book*.
These are pictures of my first *flag book*; a new 2012 product offering for alwfineART. My *Pretty Panels Abstract Art Books* are packed full of ORIGINAL 2.5 x 3.5 original paintings. They are beautiful standing up on a shelf or resting flat on a coffee table.
* Everything about them is handmade: from the hand painted paper that covers the book boards, to the individual pages (flags), to the accordion spine that makes these books so much fun to open and close. I even designed a strap with a magnetic close to protect the pages.
_The collage pages and paintings are made from acrylic, watercolor, mica, walnut ink, various embellishments, embossing powder, and ink on varying weights of rice paper and watercolor paper._

Thank you so much, Lenore, Anand, and Alga! I'm really very excited about this idea coming to fruition... been working on the various components for months now. Lately, I've pretty much put EVERYTHING on hold to get this sample made; the local reception to these books is overwhelming! :) While they're not difficult to make, there is a lot of work to make them stand out as an abstract art book. Please know that your comments are very encouraging; I really appreciate them. :) Hope you all have a wonderfully creative week!

Thanks so much, Bob! It’s been so hard to stay focused on painting all the paper required to make these books… but it ‘s finally paying off. I’m so excited about them. I love playing with them; open, close, open, close. Then that magnetic closure just makes me giggle. I know, I’m a BIG kid! :)
