Description
This collages shows about half of the book covers I've painted these past few months. The covers are resting on two WIP paintings... Since my art studio has stretched beyond Josh's old bedroom (and spilled over into the entire apartment), I have sections of the apartment for certain types of work. My book/journal covers are painted in the kitchen and left to dry in the living room; *this Studio Play Collage shows the narrow Wisdom Books (works-in-progress) I will make the rest of the summer for a show in September.*
Eventually, I hope to have a blog so I can share the tips and tricks I've learned along this wonderful art journey.
_These books were painted using 14" x 17" Vellum Bristol, 9" x 12" Shell Paper, 9" x 12" Mixed Media Paper, Tissue Paper, Rice Paper, Muslin, and/or Watercolor Paper. I used a mix of acrylic paint, walnut ink, acrylic ink, watercolor, acrylic dyes, and an abundance of collage elements like torn paper, metal object, beads, etc._

Thanks so much, Nicole, Sharon, and Alga! These books are kinda cool because they will have all sorts of wonderful quotes inside (along with more art). I really appreciate your support and comments... Oh SHELL PAPER is the bomb as a painting surface. It's a rice paper that makes such pretty painted papers for collage. Alga, I know you will have a ball with it in your collage work. :)

Beautiful work Angela. I just got my shell paper that you encouraged me to purchase :)
