Description
I've been working the past three months or so making painted papers to use in my collages and bookmaking. Finally, I'm on to the next steps in my process where I am making my own handmade washi tape out of masking tape to decorate and secure items in my "Pretty Panels", "Triptychs", "Creative Candor" abstract art books. This studio glimpse shows some of the hand carved stamps I use along with a few other painted goodies (sea shells). Additionally, I usually make collages of my paintings in Picasa and use them as page liners for my books; those are shown here too.
To make the tape, I use regular masking tape, acrylic paint and/or acrylic mica ink and then stamp my designs using Stazon permanent ink. The sea shells are painted with either Golden or Liquitex acrylic iridescent metallic paints.
